Canoeing/Kayaking
Paddle sport is one of the fastest growing sports in the UK. We think its great and highly accessible to people of all ages and abilities. Canoes are great for a family day out as they can seat mum, dad and young children or the dog. Kayaks won't fit the dog in but can be a more manoeuvrable craft for one person. We can offer the experience to suit you be it a gentle way to explore a loch, an adventure down a river or a cross Scotland epic expedition.
Your day will start with an explanation of the chosen craft and fitting of the safety equipment. Then we can look at techniques for getting on and off the water, turning, forwards and backwards paddling and journeying skills. Through out the day our staff will be giving you hints and tips to help you control the craft to the best of you abilities.
We can offer the SCA personal star awards (1 -3) in kayak, canoe and touring.
We have run a number of skill development courses for a range of needs from adventure racers wanting sharpen their techniques, to parents wanting to have some knowledge to keep the children safe.
